Application development

Application and System Integration

Most companies do not have one system. They have an application, a database, a report and something external that all need the same customer, order or inventory record.

A path, not a pile of interfaces

A practical flow is an application that calls an API, the API that writes to SQL Server, and reporting that reads a governed copy of that data. The pieces change. The rule does not: one place owns the record, and the others receive it on purpose.

Applications and databases

The screen and SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle staying consistent.

APIs and web services

A supported contract instead of a shared database login. See API development.

External platforms

Only after that platform's API is reviewed. We do not imply support for a vendor we have not scoped.

Why companies fund this

  • People stop typing the same fact into two systems
  • Reports match the application
  • A manual overnight file becomes a job someone can monitor
  • A failure is logged at the boundary instead of discovered by a customer

List the systems that do not talk

Name the application, the database and the other system. We will recommend an API, a database integration or an ETL job.
